Subject: Focussed SWOT Analyses

Hi, All

I've now set up 3 pages in the Wiki for the following focussed SWOT
analyses:

DITA Adoption Business SWOT Analysis
http://wiki.oasis-open.org/dita-adoption/DITA_Adoption_Business_SWOT_Analysis

SWOT analysis for DITA, targeted at business decision makers

Audience
     • Directors of small & medium sized companies, with a few authors
     • Managers of technical author departments, with a team of authors
     • Vice presidents of corporate companies, with several teams of
authors
     • XML editor & CCMS tool vendors, considering support for DITA
     • Focus on the business case for DITA

DITA Adoption Author SWOT Analysis
http://wiki.oasis-open.org/dita-adoption/DITA_Adoption_Author_SWOT_Analysis

SWOT analysis for DITA, targeted at technical authors

Audience
     • Individual technical authors in small & medium sized companies
     • A team of technical authors within a department
     • Several teams of technical authors collaborating within a
corporation
     • Localisation sub-contractors
     • Focus on DITA structure, localisation, collaboration

DITA Adoption IT Dev SWOT Analysis
http://wiki.oasis-open.org/dita-adoption/DITA_Adoption_IT_Dev_SWOT_Analysis

SWOT analysis for DITA, targeted at IT and developers

Audience
     • Technical authors with a software and/or web development
background
     • IT support teams
     • Software development teams
     • XML editor & CCMS tool vendors, considering support for DITA
     • Focus on DITA toolkit, XML editing tools, CCMS tools

At this stage, it would be helpful to ensure the 3 audiences are about
right. I'm very concious of the breadth within each one, but these
seem to be the 'obvious' canditates. It's important to get these
audiences right before doing a lot of work. It would be possible to
consider other audiences, but would that be too much fragmentation?

David
