[dita-adoption] Groups - Event "DITA Adoption TC meeting" modified

Folks,

I'll not be able to dial in tonight. However, I didn't want to let my (continued) absence hold up this discussion. I've been working with a few tech pubs teams in Bangalore, helping them adopt DITA. This is a pilot project. The plan is to gradually get other DITA Asia Adoption SC members to join in. My biggest challenge right now is helping them transition to topic-based writing. People find it easy to "use" DITA -creating topics, generating output, etc. I fear that by blindly "converting" their documentation sets to DITA, they will end up not experiencing the true value of DITA. Many of these teams don't have information architects (or team members with IA skills.) So my question is, should the TC/SC create content on IA. While I feel that this should be left to vendors, your recommendations are welcome. Another issue is exposure. Will having an event like DITA NA in Asia help?
