This came to me personally, but I think it was intended for the DITA
Adoption TC.

I am an observer on this committee rather than member, but have a
couple of comments.
As a white paper, the committee needs to be careful about implied
"product placement." Particularly given that most people new to
this will be guided by the tools mentioned in the paper. I might
be inclined to ask why not libreoffice (equation generation that
can be exported as MathML), or MS Word (for the same reason, and
ubiquitous), or LaTeX, or the default editor in Oxygen for those
who want to write MathML..?
Tools need to either be a little more comprehensive in scope, or
possibly separated from a discussion paper about the new features
and how to use them.
You may also want to look at the source; it could be construed
that MathFlow Equation Editor being bold is highlighting that as
the preferred option, particularly when using a phrase such as
"...it is the most advanced MathML rendering engine available."
Not uncommon to see corporate marketing in a white paper, but
usually that carries the company logo so you know what to expect.
You may view that as conspiracy theory, but to my mind is
something Oasis needs to take into account when a paper is
published.
Regards
Ian

TC members, have you had an opportunity to review this
whitepaper?
JoAnn, I think you might want to get and handle any comments
from the DITA TC before asking the DITA Adoption TC to approve
the final paper.
