BTW, this move will have no impact on the availability of the site. I will proceed with inviting members of the DITA TC and when the move to ditaforums.xml.org is complete, I'll start making some noise.

Unless I'm not understanding DNS, the subdomain we want to use will not be affected by new hosting of dita.xml.org.

The DITA Adoption TC would like to move its new Discourse forum site from www.ditaforums.org to ditaforums.xml.org as soon as possible. The previous domain was a temporary parking spot while hosting options were investigated, and maintaining it any longer will cause confusion later on. To effect the transition, we need a DNS CNAME record that points ditaforums.xml.org to ditaforums.hosted-by-discourse.com.
