Subject: Fwd: Re: [dita-comment] Distribution of DITA
Hi, Rudi. You certainly may distribute the DITA DTD and XSD artifacts. Many XML editors and component content management systems do just that. If you want to republish the specification itself, be sure to include the contents of the "Notices" -- see http://docs.oasis-open.org/dita/v1.2/os/spec/DITA1.2-spec.html Best, Kris Kristen James Eberlein Principal consultant, Eberlein Consulting Chair, OASIS DITA Technical Committee Charter member, OASIS DITA Adoption Committee www.eberleinconsulting.com +1 919 682-2290; kriseberlein (skype) On 1/8/2014 7:02 PM, Ruediger Landmann wrote:
Hi -- I'd like to ship DITA in Fedora, but I noticed that the schema doesn't appear to be available for distribution. For example, in the catalog file at http://docs.oasis-open.org/dita/v1.2/os/dtd1.2/catalog-dita.xml I find: <!-- (C) Copyright OASIS Open 2005, 2009. --> <!-- (C) Copyright IBM Corporation 2001, 2004. --> <!-- All Rights Reserved. --> So, my question is, does the DITA TC intend for the schema to be redistributed? And if so, could somebody please clarify the copyright notice on this (and other) files, to indicate the appropriate license for redistribution? Cheers Rudi
