Dear DITA learning and training content
specialization sub-committee -
The eLearning Guild's Learning Solutions
has published another readable and relevant article for us - "Learning
Object-Based e-Learning: Content Design, Methods, and Tools" by Yonnie
Chyung.
See http://www.elearningguild.com/articles/abstracts/index.cfm?action=view&CFID=5775723&CFTOKEN=98221289.
I encourage you to read this article
- it very much validates the approach we're taking with the DITA learning
specialization.
Chyung recaps the Cisco framework, and
how to represent multiple levels of learning objectives.
Her model of a learning object (LO)
is almost identical to the model we've been developing -
An
LO = Overview + Several topics (including practice) + Summary + Assessment.
She also provides some discussion about
how to apply this approach to Bloom's content taxonomy and Gagne's nine
events of instruction.
Very interesting reading, and good general
validation to the approach we're taking with the DITA learning specialization.
John
