Fred found that there is an inconsistency with the body elements in the topic types. In the base DITA spec, Fred found that the body element is optional, not required. In our specializations, do we want to make it required (tighter restrictions)? Scott and Robin advised against making the model to restrictive/prescriptive. If someone wants to specialize further to make it required, they can do so, but we don't want to make the model so tight as to make certain corner cases difficult. Question regarding Doctype shells: Michael Priestly has suggested some additional "packaging" around the doctype shells to provide for: Generic Software Machine Industry Scott: eventually we'll have to create one for Semiconductor Industry Scott: who's responsible for maintaining these shells? Robert Anderson? John Hunt? John: probably up to the maintainer of the DTDs, so that sounds like Robert Anderson (or the DITA TC) Robin is also a member of the Machine Industry SC. Because of DITA's complexity, it might be easier to provide the shells so folks can use these right out of the box. Scott: there could be quite the maintenance overhead, as more industry specializations are created, etc. Consensus: support the notion of providing the additional shells from the DITA TC, but need to clearly identify who is responsible for creating these shells. AI: John to send our decision to the TC. John: would like to have the spec topics fully ready to go within the next 2 weeks. The overview and sample learning objects need to be included in the 1.2 specification. Please review by next Tuesday. Still need help on the FAQ. Scott to trade off spec review to work on the FAQ.
