Subject: Re: [dita-learningspec] Re: learning objects and classification

It would really be good if someone would write an article for the DITA Adoption TC on this process. Any volunteers?

Hi Amber,

I think what you need is to add the classification domain to the maps in question. With DITA 1.2, we did not define a learning map, but defined the set of learning map element as a map domain, which was then available for use DITA maps. In the same way, you could add the classification domain to make that available. With the learning object and learning group maps in DITA 1.3, you should also be able to add the classification domain.

Agree - it would be good to provide some instructions and samples for doing this. Do we have any volunteers?

John

Subject:        learning objects and classification

Hi there,

I’m trying to create a new learning object map and realized that the map doesn’t include classification support. Was this intentional? If so, then what is the proposed support for aligning learning objectives to specific topics, such assessment items? In the past, I’ve done this with subjectScheme.

If the recommended support is to add classification to the map, then we need to provide instructions to do this for all learning maps. None of the learning maps include classification support and none of the specialized elements allow the classification elements.

Thanks in advance for any guidance,
Ambe
