- Approve minutes from 24OCT 2017
- Dawn motions to accept. Doug seconds. Accepted.
- Action items:
- Dawn to post to their community and see if there is any interest in compatibility with DITA – CONTINUED
- Amber/Dawn to write up requirements for learning objectives and their use expectations. – CONTINUED
- Birgit – summary of DITA Europe presentation on LT
- Described difference between learning and education
- ACTION: Birgit to send presentation to list
- Plugin in github open repository. (https://github.com/birgitstrackenbrock/dita13.lc.extra-interactions
)
- Missing: Questions that occur within the text (gap, gap with choice list)
- Correct answer can only be indicated with the empty <correct/> element. Would prefer more semantic approach in future designs. (correct and incorrect)
- Output is really missing for DITA Learning (easier OT plugins or delivery system). Mekon had done some customization work; perhaps they'd be willing to donate? Comtech? xsl-fo
is not necessarily the target. HTML5 may be more desired, including interactions.
- Other missing: sort question type, acrostic, slides
- John Hunt – Origin for existing question types was based on QTI, for compatibility
- Output format is a challenge. Scoring still needs to be supported, without giving away the answers (embedded in the HTML)
- Doug – SAP has support for proprietary _javascript_-based player
- Open source version of player (http://openui5.org/ )
- Standard outputs + slides
- Using for standalone assessments
- Card interface (course, module, lesson) – consistency with existing app framework
- eBook
- Can provide demo at a future meeting
- Proposal process should follow the DITA 2.0 proposal process (https://wiki.oasis-open.org/dita/DITA_2.0_Proposal_Process_DRAFT
). There is a restriction to no more than 3 open/active proposals per member.
- Other interaction types?
- Rubric / assessment criteria?
- Are there Semantic reasons for separating open questions and answers?
- Scott – what about support for augmented or virtual objects / interactions?
- Need more requirements, but worth exploring
- Perhaps use a different namespace, like SVG
- Doug has written a summary of areas of interest. Will send to list (in response to draft recruiting letter).
- In 2 weeks: SAP demo
- Last meeting of year: Scott / Mark discuss publishing
Thanks and best regards,
--Scott
