At SAP we have built several SCORM plugins to use with our Componize installation including:
- A traditional linear e-learning output
- An assessment output
- An e-book output
- A modern micro-learning output using a card paradigm
These are all in daily production for SAP and are used to publish thousands of SCORM courses per year.
They are not something we offer commercially at this time but perhaps we could discuss some options.
If you would like we could have a call and I could demo them to you so could see some ideas what is possible.

John Hunt and I cobbled together a demonstration SCORM plugin back in DITA 1.2 days but it hasn’t been maintained.
There two main challenges with a “SCORM” plugin:
- Constructing a conforming SCORM package. This is essentially the same as producing EPUB so the existing D4P EPUB plugin would be a natural
starting point since it already does pretty much what SCORM requires
- Generating the actual content. This is much harder because it will be LMS-specific and also reflect the editorial and delivery requirements
of the people producing the instructional material.
I’m not currently in a position to pursue this myself but I could certainly help somebody who is.
