Subject: Re: [dita-lightweight-dita] Reminder about action item from Wednesday's meeting

Yes ... alignment with HTML5 also, which allows tables and nested "description" (HTML5 label) lists.

IIRC, the TC presented this as a query, not a push-back. So I believe our (SC's) explanation is likely sufficient for the TC?

I requested on Wednesday that the SC summarize the discussion for the TC, including the reasons for the content model. I need to bring the item back up at the TC and ask whether we're ready to close it or not.

I alignment with HTML5 was another reason ...

Hi Kris,

Are you requesting that somebody from the SC do this? Or are you requesting a summary of the discussion?

I thought the SC agreed that the content model for <dd> is appropriate, and that reasonable use cases exist for allowing <dl> and <simpletable>. And that there is some benefit (simplicity/predictability for authors; maintainability for the TC) to use the same content model for children of all list element types.

The TC had asked the subcommittee to do the following:

Consider content model for dd element -- Should it contain dl? simpletable?

We discussed that Wednesday and I asked that tenor of the discussion be communicated to the TC. Can that be done before the TC meeting on Tuesday?
