DITA Machine Industry SC Meeting Minutes: 24 October 2006

The DITA Machine Industry Subcommitee met on Tuesday, 24 October 2006 at 07:00 am PT / 04:00 pm CET
for 60 minutes.

1.  Roll call 
We have quorum.

2.  We need a Secretary
Issue postponed to next meeting due to missing attendees

3.  Review the Charter and statement of goals
The List of initial goals has to be added with the following points:
  - define a list of manual types and requirements that should be covered

  - create a checklist of international laws and regulations that have to be considered

4. Review the proposed deliverables 
Chris Kravogel proposes
- to add a Task: DTD acceptence by TC after Task 4 to get the required support by the TC.
- to use proposed issue #5 (Hazard Statements) as a first sample to run through all task as an introduction for all new members to learn the process of getting new DITA proposal accepted.

The content of issue #5 will be delivered for preparation at the next SC meeting.

5. Thoughts on recruiting additional members
- Klaus Fenchel will directly ask some of his costomers from the Machine Industry to join
- Chris Kravogel will add a slide with a call for participation to his presentations at the DITA-Europe conference 2006 and the OASIS Standars Day at the TEKOM Annual Meeting 2006.

6. Planning the next meetings
Next meeting will be on Tuesday 31st of October 2006, 4 pm CET (7 am PT).
None of the actual attendees has an account at a TelCon system. So we are going to use the www.freeconference.com services also next time.
The group agrees that Skype is an alternative but will not be taken due to the fluctuating voice quality
