Subject:        [dita-sidsc] 2011-03-16 teleconference recording available

SIDSC members;

For those who could not participate in today’s teleconference, the recording is available for replay @

We had a good discussion today (well, some might think I talked too much), focused primarily around the steps we’ll take to re-gain the momentum the subcommittee had in late 2009 / early 2010. Here are some highlights:

1.    All members are encouraged to review our charter and roadmap to make sure we’re still in agreement as to the purpose and goals of the subcommittee. Please comment to the mail list if you have ideas for refinements.
2.    For the time being, we’ll move to a bi-weekly teleconference cadence (you should have gotten an email regarding that change already).
3.    We’ll also attempt to increase the discussion traffic on dita-sidsc@lists.oasis-open.org
4.    New members are encouraged to review two of our works-in-progress in order to help us move them toward Committee Draft status:
a.    SIDSC Language Reference Specification, draft 4
b.    SIDSC Architecture Specification, draft 1
5.    All members are encouraged to do some research into whether there is an open-standard “taxonomy” for semiconductor products, and report back to the rest of us via the email list. You’ll want to listen to the last 15 minutes of the recording to understand exactly what I’m talking about here, as it is a much broader idea than embodied in RosettaNet / IEC 61360.
Respectfully,
Bob Beims
