Minutes for DITA Technical Communication Subcommittee meeting 3 March 2012, 11 am to 12 noon ET Roll call 11:00 - Quorum Attending: Tom Cihak, Seth Park, Dave Hlefinstine, Gershon Joseph, Rob Hanna, Sue Blaisdel, Jane Credlund, JoAnn Hackos Regrets: Kris Eberlein, Kristen Toole Next 19 March 2012, 11:00am to 12:00pm ET Approved Minutes: Approved minutes of 23 Jan 2012 Business 1. ITEM: Release Management -- Seth will get template for the phase 2 proposal for release management. Gershon -- discussion of traceability to the change agent -- URI to other documents Tom's is in a separate document with information about the change Consider a change history domain Book change history as a model--edited date, review date Change event Could recommend deprecation of critdate Use <data> href to point to specific item that has changed -- ability to format with change bars 2. ITEM: change tracking Comment at DITA TC that change tracking is an XML issue not a DITA issue Discussion of marking the text -- discussed the complexities, would not include delimiting factor Rob has another idea and wants to develop another proposal on this Seth explained that users can still use "flag" attributes Rob--change history is then maintained in two places -- suggests pointers to changed content JoAnn -- what about deletions? Rob -- deletions would remain for review cycle vs publishing -- such as strike-through content 3. ITEM -- Troubleshooting documentation Three proposals for committee to take to the phase 2 proposal template No details in discussion about the substructure of the additional elements (steptrouble, tasktrouble, trouble value on type attribute) Sue will discuss with BobT about handling proposals.
