Subject: System Identifiers by URL for OASIS DITA 1.0.1 DTDs/Schemas
Last month, Mary McRae and I did some work to make the latest Candidate Release files (both DTDs and Schemas) available by URL from an OASIS server. These addresses may be used as system identifiers in the absence of local versions. I suggest that this information should be published somewhere along with best practice suggestions on usage, perhaps on the TC's home page. Is there any better location for this sort of information? The version number in the URLs makes this information ephemeral, therefore not suitable for putting in the Language Spec, although we might add something to the XML Catalog discussion about the use of URLs as system identifiers.
