After all, while it makes sense to have the expanded DITA-specific information about the use of xml:lang, it remains the case that any use of xml:lang must conform to what is said in the XML spec, so users and implementors need to be aware of what's said therein. The "xml" prefix implies this attribute "belongs" to the XML namespace, and it is only appropriate that we make a reference to the spec that "owns" this attribute. paul
