Subject: Using glossary terms by reference

A client wants to be able to use terms defined in a glossary by
reference where they are mentioned.

In reviewing the glossary support markup I don't see any direct solution
other than using <term> within <glossterm> and then doing conrefs to the
terms where you want to reflect the term in content.

Obviously this will work but is there a better way?

It would be nice if we could, for example, say that conref from term may
point to other term instances or to glossterm. [For 2.0 I may propose a
generic mechanism for defining the reference type constraints for conref
on a per element-type basis, so that you could formally say that conref
from term can point to term or glossterm (or specializations thereof).]

Thanks,

Eliot
