I'm currently getting the same #2 ranking as Doug. I've updated my
various public sites per his good recommendation. I tried a
LinkedIn-based Tweet; the URL gets compressed, so I'm not sure if
this helps things. It'll be interesting to check how the page
ranking adjusts from today's increased activity. By the way, since
these posts are indexed, wouldn't citing the URL in our individual
postings or sigs on other forums here eventually help increase its
page rating? We may never know but I'll add one for the cause: OASIS
DITA1.2 Specification

Hi Doug,
Did you get the different result
(rank
number 2) using the same search terms? I only ask because when I
searched
"dita 1.2", I got the exact same results as Kris.
In terms of adding links, I'd
suggest:
- make sure there is a page
dedicated
to linking to it as a resource from dita.xml.org - that site has
the highest
google rank generally for DITA, and it's giving us the first 2
pages in
the results
- add links to it from the
feature review
articles at dita.xml.org (such as the keyref articles) - so the
current
higher-ranked pages link to the preferred destination
- add links to it from our TC
wiki pages
that mention 1.2 - same reason as above

Hi Kris,
It was ranked number 2 when I Googled it a few moments ago. A
few suggestions:
1. Add various pieces of metadata that includes DITA 1.2
2. We could all add links to it on our sites/blogs
3. Tweet about it a bit
4. Click on it on Google listings
Kind regards,

Hi, Robin.
One of our DITA TC members (Su-Laine

the official
DITA page is low on the page when one googles “DITA 1.2” – it
comes
after pages on dita.xml.org and an internal DITA TC Wiki page
used during
the design of DITA 1.2:
I had an action item from the last
TC meeting
to bring this to your attention. I’m cc’ing Don Day and the TC
list in
case anyone has specific suggestions for what OASIS could do to
move the
official pages up in prominence.
