Subject: Proposal 13120, Vocabulary for Cross-Deliverable Linking: Move to Withdraw
This proposal is to define vocabulary for interchanging the details needed to manage the processing of deliverables from DITA source and, in particular, to enable the production of cross-deliverable links in a general and processor-indepdent way. There is no way that I can complete this proposal by our current deadlines. The feature is not a hard requirement for implementation of cross-deliverable linking, it was just an attempt to standardize something all processors would need to do, in the same way that DITAVAL standardizes filtering and flagging specification to processors. Thus I would like to withdraw this proposal from DITA 1.3. I will continue to think about it and try to define something as soon as possible, probably in the context of DITA OT extensions to implement cross-deliverable link generation. We can always standardize it separately from the main DITA standard or simply publish it as a technical report or whatever.
