8. DITA 2.0 stage 2 proposals.
Initial discussion
Titlealts
Reviewers Frank Wegmann and Robert Anderson
Chris Nitchie:
Extensible mechanism for people to provide alternate
titles. Set in Topic or in Map.
DITA 1 - NavTitle and searchtitle
Keep navtitle and searchtitle as specialization of
alttitle - new domain for alttitles
linktitle
keytext
subtitle
titlehint
alttitle @titlerole- nav/search
If title role exists in map and topic, map title wins as
long as there's only one.
If multiple (e.g. subtitles), would be combined.
Scott Hudson: Makes sense. Prioritization answered
questions
Elliot: Happy with proposal since the get go.
Chris N: Big justification for new pass - got bogged down
in <keytext>, so now its own proposal
In previous discussions, thoughts/concerns about fallback
for some titles.
If no navtitle, but did provide linktitle, what should
you do? the role defines the fallback behavior.
New specializations can just provide fallback behavior.
Kris: Kudos for going through this. SOlid proposal
Zoe what about titlehint
CHris n: in 1.0, @locktitle. If locktitle=on, use map
navtitle. If locktitle off, do nothing.
Lots of folks used @navtitle/<navtitle> to render
map in editor.
Locktitle offended sensibility.
titlehint provides a title in map editor w/o opening
topic to get title. in some cases, can move
navtitle>titlehint.
Kris: thanks. Can we vote next week? With no comments, up
for a vote next week.
End of today's agenda. use this time for proposals.
