Subject: Setting up an OASIS publishing environment

Setting up a DITA TC publishing environment

To publish DITA-TC or OASIS styled documents, you need to set up a publishing environment. You easily can do this using Oxygen XML Editor.

About this task

This procedure installs the DITA TC PDF stylesheets and sets up transformation scenarios for generating the following PDFs:

By default, Apache FOP is set as the PDF rendering engine.

Procedure

  1. Download the latest version of DITA-OT fromÂhttps://www.dita-ot.org/download, and install it on your system.
  2. Download and install the DITA TC stylesheets:
    1. Get theÂorg.oasis-open.dita.publishingÂplug-in from the OASIS Open GitHub repository for DITA stylesheets.
The URI for the repository isÂhttps://github.com/oasis-open/dita-stylesheets. We suggest that you fork the repository and create a local clone, but you can just download the plug-in, if you want.
    2. Copy theÂorg.oasis-open.dita.publishingÂplug-in to theÂpluginsÂdirectory of the DITA-OT instance that you created in stepÂ1.
    3. Integrate the plug-in.
  3. CopyÂDITA-TC-publishing.xprÂto the root of the DITA-OT instance that you created in stepÂ1.
This Oxygen project file contains transformation scenarios. It is located atÂdita-TC-SVN\trunk\administration\publishing\, whereÂdita-TC-SVNÂis the location of your DITA-TC SVN installation.
  4. OpenÂDITA-TC-publishing.xprÂand edit it to specify the following parameters
    Option Action
Location of DITA-OT ClickÂOptionsÂ>ÂPreferences, and save the location of your DITA-OT to the project.
Location of specification DITAVAL Edit the specification transformation scenarios, and specify the location ofÂDITA2.0-spec.ditavalÂon your system.
PDF rendering engine Edit the transformation scenarios, and specify the PDF rendering engine that you want to use.
