Nothing in the “IBM Style Guide: Conventions for Writers and Editors,” which the DITA TC uses as its style guide.

Nothing in “The Global English Style Guide: Writing Clear, Translatable Documentation for a Global Market.” And I did see “general user” and “user” used in the body text of the book.
