DOCBOOK-APPS: Crying the blues.. Not a decent uptodate document anywhere

   Trying to work with teh new KDE-2, and the distro expected 'jade' 
(Would have been nice if it first detected, before coming back to haunt 
me after a week of upgrades)
So, started looking for refs and docs.. Sheesh!! Can't believe that this 
is going to be a standard with the state of docs and links and old 
references.  And never got any replies back from my whines to the normal 
bug reporting channels.  Finally landed on the OpenJade page and that 
installed flawlessly. 
The only refs on the KDE docs refer to documentation in a doc in kdesdk 
(whcih doesn't exist)
and a cryptic set of links to non or outdated pages.
So, I know I need smgltools (of some sort, which one noone mentions, the 
outdated one, or the lite version) and docbook (Whiich version.. hmmm)
None of these come with any docs either of what to do with the 
respective distros.
So I gainfully linked ' ln -s /usr/local/bin/openjade 
/usr/local/bin/jade' and set my SGML_ envirnment to point to every 
catalogue I could find and this is what I get now compiling KDElibs in 
the ksgmltools subdir

HUGE HELP PLEASE!!!  two weeks of struggling here, and I have compiled 
more source in these two weeks than in the past 2 years I swear. I just 
want to get back to working and not fixing.. (All to try and get a 
decent Linux Browser working)

What do I do with sgmllite, what do I do with the docbook files that I 
got from docbook, can I use the version 4.0 to read V3.1 stuff, and what 
else will I encounter? Any problems with using OpenJade instead of the 
aging Jade?
