Yes, it is familiar.  The fix is Xerces-J 1.2.1, which
is available from the Xerces section of xml.apache.org.
Just replace your xerces.jar with the new version.
The xerces.jar currently distributed with Xalan is Xerces 1.2,
so I've asked that the distribution to be updated.
