The purpose would be to create a simple editor which would anyone could
install (on any platform), and would allow easy creation of DocBook XML
files.

The application would not be a WYSIWYG editor in the sense that it would
render the stylesheets, but would allow you to view basic DocBooks in
"styled text mode" - that is I'd probably use user defined combinations of
colour/italic/bold/font/fontsize to correspond to the DocBook tags.

There would be the following modes:

    1) Text Editor Mode: with menus for all the tags and some buttons/short
cuts for the common tags. Probably won't bother with syntax colouring, and
validation will not been done at this stage against the DTD - just make it
hard to enter invalid XML?

    2) Word Processor Mode: with the tags replaced by style combinations
for ease of reading/writing - still using tag names for menus/buttons.

    3) HTTP/FTP of files direct to server?

    4) Simple CGI's to render FTP'd files to HTML?

    5) Spelling on Linux using aspell?

    6) links to Linux Documentation DocBooks online, and where to get/HOTO's
regarding installing and using "proper" editors?
