Subject: DOCBOOK-APPS: RE: DOCBOOK: XML suites to manage DocBook projects?

Moving to docbook-apps.

This one always turns into a long discussion. There's a recent one on
xml-doc (split into two threads):
'docbook support in XML editors?'
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/xml-doc/messagesearch?query=docbook%20supp
ort%20in%20xml%20editors
'Digest Number 447'
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/xml-doc/messagesearch?query=digest%20447

You mention your users are used to word. I've heard of this:
http://www.hvltd.com/ but have never downloaded the demo or anything.

There are lots of things to consider. For example, does the editor
reformat the xml, creating lots of spurious whitespace and linebreak
changes that make a diff impossible? If so, it could rob a cm tool like
cvs of much of its usefulness. I think everyone will be happier if they
just learn to use emacs :)
