DOCBOOK-APPS: dsssl versus xsl

Hello, 

I need help to draw a rigorous comparison between DSSSL and XSL so that
I could choose consciously one of the two languages to transform an XML
document (a book in docbook format) into other formats such as HTML or
PDF. Can you help me drawing a comparison between the two (or finding
resources about such a comparison) ?

very interesting about this, but I don't have a clear comparison yet
(maybe because I am a beginner). 

I get the feeling DSSSL is not as widely supported as XSL, is it right?
What trends could help investigating what the future of XML
transformations will be?
