JDK 1.4.1 comes with a version of xalan already installed. To use your own
version of xalan you must use the -Xbootclasspath/p:<YOUR_PATH_TO_XALAN>
option. The CLASSPATH variable or the -classpath option can not be used!!!
Perhaps this is your problems.
