Hello, Sebastian. I believe that in your case text at the bottom of the page will be better positioned using static content (fo:region-after). As for "not working" space-before - you should add space-before.conditionality="retain" for it to be applied then following another block. P.S.: I'm not sure if this question is appropriate for docbook-apps list.
