In fact, I did this using OpenOffice 1.1 and it's DocBook/XML export feature. The exported files were not even valid XML, but with the help of Emacs+psgml and Emacs+nxml it was possible. This task has to be done by hackers! > What I'm envisaging is (possibly hugely) customising the interface > (which looks feasible from my brief browse at xmlmind.com) to present > a very non-scary subset of DocBook which the non-technical authors can > use to add content to some pre-existing template documents. This is easy! You don't need to change the GUI of XXE or anything. Just create your own DTD derived from DocBook/XML and use this subset with XXE. As long as it is a subset, not a superset, this should just work. Cheers, WB
