I'm sorry the last mail was my misunderstanding. Seems you did have used
catalog manager.  What you want to do may be specifying SAX parser. Add
-x and -y option when you call Saxon. like:

java -cp [snip] \
-x org.apache.xml.resolver.tools.ResolvingXMLReader \
-y org.apache.xml.resolver.tools.ResolvingXMLReader \
...[snip]

'org.apache.xml' may be 'com.sun', depending on resolver you use.
