Index problems with Xalan but not Saxon

Hi there,

  I've been happily using Saxon to do transformations, but now I'm supposed to switch to Xalan.

  Big problem:  I run the same xml source with same stylesheets through Saxon, I get a normal index, but when I run them through xalan, the references are missing.

Example:
  Saxon output:
    Animals
	Crocodiles, A Chapter for Index Entries
  Xalan output:
    Animals
	Crocodiles

My environment:
Xalan-Java 2.6.0
Saxon 6.5.2
JRE 1.3.1_10
Windows 2000
Docbook 412
Docbook stylesheets 1.62.4

  Can any of you tell me what's wrong and how to fix it?  Are there other Saxon vs Xalan things I should look out for?  I have noticed xalan doesn't indent the html output either.  A pain, but I can live with it. Naturally, I'm supposed to get everything done and tested pretty much immediately!  ha!
