Subject: footnote symbol formatting in fo output
I have inserted a series of symbols to be used for footnote references : <!-- Change footnote format to these symbols, see http://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/xsl/current/doc/html/ footnote.number.symbols.html --> <xsl:param name="footnote.number.symbols" select="'*§†‡*'"></xsl:param> I can not get rid of the single blank space which surrounds the inserted symbol. This appears to be a carry-over of the default square bracket (shown at http://www.docbook.org/tdg/en/html/footnote.html ), which is now removed. Resultant PDF : http://dev.wormbook.org/sample_wntsignal/wnt_signal.pdf Could someone please point out which element in the xsl stylesheets is responsible for this? Software : DocBook 4.4CR2, XSL 1.67.2, FOP 0.20.5, and Saxon 6.5.3 XML : <author> <firstname>David</firstname> <surname>Eisenmann <remark> <footnote> <para>To whom correspondence should be addressed. <email>eisenman@umbc.edu</email> </para> </footnote> </remark> </surname> <affiliation> <orgname>Department of Biological Sciences, University of Maryland, Baltimore County</orgname> <address>Baltimore, MD 21250 USA</address> </affiliation> </author> Cheers, Tristan --- Tristan J.
