It looks like this bug, reported for 0.20.4 and still open in Bugzilla: http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=14962 > I am using docbook-xml-4.4, docbook-xsl-1.68.1 and fop-0.20.5rc2 FOP is being redesigned. You could try the recently released 0.90alpha1 version. /MJ
