Subject: Path from DocBook to MS Word
I need to publish DocBook source in MS Word format. The Word documents need to be reasonably well formatted and suitable for release. My experiments with the wordml stylesheet and the fo2wordml tool result in "unspecified errors" when I try to open them in Word 2003 Professional. I'm not sure what Word is complaining about (unspecified) but my suspicion is that my large DocBook document uses elements that are not supported by the wordml stylesheet or the fo2wordml tool. Is anyone using a reliable solution for publishing DocBook content as an MS Word document? If I know a solution is out there I'll be happier about going through all this experimentation. My next attempt will be the DocBook > HTML > Word technique described in this message: http://sourceware.org/ml/docbook-apps/2003-q3/msg00743.html. I'm using docbook-xsl-1.71.1 with Saxon on Windows XP. Thanks. Peter Desjardins SupplyScape Corporation +1 781 503 7441 http://www.supplyscape.com
