Why not convert your XML to gettext strings, have them translated for each language and then dynamically rebuild translated versions of Docbook XML files during build. The benefits are great. 1. No need to have all languages in one file. 2. Edit in main language (e.g. EN), see differences in gnu gettext. 3. Trac exactly what changed and needs translation on a version by version basis. 4.
