Hi Sean, I'm using profiling because of it's easy to implement in our tool chain. Up to now we have only two languages of our document. And we are only two people working on the files. You are right if you translate a document to more than two or three languages profiling can't be used. In such case I have to search for another way. I read a little bit about gnu gettext. I've never heard about before. But I would look for an XML based mechanism. The IBM tool mentioned by Camille sounds very interesting. Or implementing an own XSLT, XQUERY tool.
