I think the tipping point is coming (if nothing else those devices will start falling apart, unlike IE6, God help us), but the audience for our content is not very tech-savvy. They are likely still using Kindles they got as gifts and don't even know there are new ones to buy. I would make the decision to abandon mobi7 based on your customers/audience.

About the same number of ie6 or 8 users?
I think the above logic is flawed. Customers are strange beasts.
