Well, then you could create a stylesheet to merge docbook.xsl into a single 
stylesheet.  It would be an identity stylesheet except for templates for 
xsl:include and xsl:import, which would open the file and process its 
contents (and any includes) to copy everything.  I don't know if the result 
will work as I've never tried it. I'll be curious to see how big the result 
it as well.
