Subject: internationalising docbook by allowing ruby markup
Hi, I would like to recommend the docbook specification to be extended with the "ruby" element, as described in http://www.w3.org/TR/ruby/, in order to expand the international use for docbook markup to include asian material that requires direct annotated text, such as chinese/japanese/korean textbooks, manuals, technical documentation and possibly more. For proper support it would make most sense to extend the docbook DTD to allow ruby to be used in all plain text contexts, excepting elements such as indexterms and glossterms.
