Scott mentioned the National Library of Medicine (NLM) ,
which wraps "a chemical expression, reaction, chemical equation, etc". The group
discussed whether it would be best to mark that up as an image.

Scott also raised the issue of marking up both poetry and dialog (like in a
screenplay) with NLM's . A definition list doesn't work very well, nor
does . we develop a separate module for this (it could become
quite complex, especially as it includes stage instructions and such). Perhaps
the TEI module could be added in the same way as MathML? On the other hand, we
could simply follow the simpler model in NLM, if we only have a simple use-case.

The discussion moved on to , which we've been discussing as an alternative
wrapper to 'book' for groups of s. isn't attractive because the
name is misleading, but a more specific name is hard to pick: 'magazine',
'journal', 'newsletter', and 'periodical' all are reasonable. John P. notes (as
he has in the past) that they're moving _away_ from a container element, as they
are publishing more articles separately, rather than in larger groups. There's
still no consensus on articles and wrappers.

Keith adds that folks might consider considering new values for article/@class
(currently: faq, journalarticle, productsheet, specification,
techreport, and whitepaper)

Scott and Jim Earley tried a customization of the DocBook RelaxNG markup
(splitting into more files). Norm is prepared to accept most of Scott & Jim's
changes for the next CR (6), but is skeptical about the group of 'product'
stuff. should be kept separate from elements like .

# Added to Agenda
# b. 1722935 DocBook 5: Adding proofreader in @class for othercredit?

The othercredit element is used as a part of metadata in the info group. The
full TC had gotten a RFE to add one specific value (proofreader) to the list
enumerated by the @class value, but the TC felt that we should develop a more
complete list.

Roles discussed on Mailing list:

indexer
proofreader
coverdesigner
interiordesigner
illustrator
reviewer
typesetter

Scott notes that the TC is looking for the most commonly used job titles, rather
than every possible value. Norm agrees, mentioning that he'd like to see the
list stay below about a 20 values, if possible. Keith asks if some of the
existing "editor" values (technicaleditor, productioneditor, copyeditor)
in the current @class list might better move to the 'editor' element.

Action Items:
* John P, others to query internally to find more @class values for othercredit.
Please send findings to list prior to 19 September 2007.
* Gary H. & John P. to research dialog markup samples
* All to consider best options for top-level 'article' structure (or just
keeping ) and come back at next meeting with a recommendation.
* Keith & Scott to continue work on RNC customization

Thanks to Keith for taking the minutes!
