Subject: Re: [docbook-tc] Proposed change to scheme versioning

Well, there are a couple of possibilities:

1. 5.2 comes out and we don't republish simplified. Then "Simplified
   5.1-1" remains the current version.

2. 5.2 comes out and there are changes that are relevant to simplified.
Then Simplified 5.2-1 is an update to 5.1-1, when we publish it.
Ideally, perhaps, we publish it with 5.2, but that's not necessary.

3. 5.2 comes out and none of the changes are actually part of simplified.
Then Simplified 5.1-1 and Simplified 5.2-1 are identical. Whether we
publish 5.2-1 in that case is a separate question, I guess.

Points 2 and 3 are a little, odd but they strike me as an improvement
over the current state of play where 1.1 is based on 5.0 and 1.2 is
based on 5.1 and 1.3 is based on 5.4 because we forgot to do it for a
couple of releases.

I'm trying to get the build system into a shape where I can build all the
schemas at a push of a button.

                                        Be seeing you,
                                          norm
