Subject: RE: DocBook Technical Committee Meeting Agenda: 24 October 2018

Hello, Team,

Attached please find a ZIP file with two samples in it of adding a legalsection element as a descendant of legalnotice, as well as sample schemas that add the element (in a subdirectory).

  • legalnotice-experiments-2.xml (uses the docbook-5_1/docbook.rng schema)
  • legalnotice-experiments-2a.xml (uses the docbook-5_1/docbooka.rng schema)

The first adds legalsection as a recursive descendant of legalnotice while the second one allows legalnotice as a child of legalsection.  Canât render them (and didnât get them to Bob in time to get rendered documents out to the group â sorry).  I made very simplistic extensions to the schemas to allow what I did to work, so it will require more tuning, but it is at least a start to see what the documents would look like.  Not sure the second one is reasonably renderable, but the agenda for the meeting talked about both of them.  I really think the legalsection makes a reasonable extension for the schema â Iâll be interested in what you think about it.

Sorry this is late â my wife has family in the Florida panhandle and flew out yesterday morning to help with the storm damage to the house she grew up in â the eye of the hurricane passed directly over the home she grew up in and a tree fell on top of the house.  No one was hurt but the damage was massive.

Iâm still working on adding xinclude to the assembly schema, and think I can finish it in another couple of evenings.  It is much more complex than the legalnotice work (since I have never worked with xinclude â we implemented something similar before it came out and never moved to it).

This is for items 3 g and h.

Regards,

Larry Rowland
