i´m useing docbook xml and can successfully create pdf documents from
docbook. acrobat reader can render pdf to postscript.
i´m useing the apache xml tools and jdk1.2.2 on a debian gnu/linux potato 
system to do this.

but beware: the xsl stylesheets seem to be alpha quality in pdf rendering
norm: is it helpfull to write bug reports ? for example page counters
start several times at 1 within a book.

i wrote a small docbook/debian howto in german. if there is a need,
i will translate it to english. write me a mail.
