I applied your graphic-file redefinition to my local style
file. However, that doesn´t seem to work for me.

I created some graphic files (jpg, eps, and png). In my original
DocBook source file I had three <imagedata> elements within the
<imageobject> element, one for each image format (like in "The
Definitive Guide").

I realized that the first one (jpg) was used by JadeTeX, PDFJadeTeX,
and HTML. The eps file was not used at all.

Then I applied your suggested graphic-file patch and just left one
<imagedata> element without extension and format attribute. Now all I
get are the captions.

Is there a FAQ around that describes what kind of image format to use
with what backend?

Cheers

Jens
