Subject: DOCBOOK: re: Q: how to store articles DOI numbers?
/ "E.L. Willighagen" <egonw@sci.kun.nl> was heard to say: | Question: How can i best store DOI numbers of published articles | in bibliographic references? > What's a DOI number? DOI is the abbrev for Digital Object Identifier (http://www.doi.org/) The idea is that every article will have a unique DOI by which it is identified, thus making searching articles very easy... that is, making references directly linkable to the *other* publishers website... At http://www.doi.org/idf-member-list.html is a list of participants, and you will notice that all major publishers are represented... a DOI is thus to articles what ISBN is to journals... Since i noticed there is a ISBN element, i like to propose a DOI element as well... To bad that i just missed the 4.0 release... Egon
