It's unfortunate there isn't more aggressive Debian SGML/XML work
going on right now. I think a lot of us Debian developers are pretty
busy with the Potato freeze. Speaking for myself personally, my next
goal is OpenJade (OpenSP is done, and OpenJade is compiling at least
now); following that I will probably be dedicating work towards a
general Debian RDF based document store and other tasks which may
prevent me from doing extensive SGML/XML work in Debian.

Also, Norm, take a look at my version of your docbook-stylesheets
package.

Norm, I'd be happy to build the DSSSL out of the CVS area which you
already maintain if that is feasible. The OpenJade group already
gives me CVS write access which is very helpful for more rapid Debian
releases, as well as letting me make changes to upstream sources when
appropriate. This would let either of us build .debs -- you still
need to be an official maintainer to upload stuff, but it would be
great for me (and less work) if we were working together right out of
CVS.

Maybe we could do a similar thing with XSL. I don't actually use XSL
at all so I'm hestitant in packaging it -- I don't think I could do a
good job. But I'm certainly willing to help you with the first steps
and whatnot...
