Subject: DocBook V4.3: rename startinglinenumber?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I propose that we rename the 'startinglinenumber' attribute on verbatim environments to 'initiallinenumber'. The name 'startinglinenumber' might give the impression that that's the first line that should be in the environment, rather than that it's the number that will be used for the first line. In other words, one might imagine: <programlisting startinglinenumber='90'> one hundred lines of text <programlisting> would display only lines 90-100 of the listing which is not what we mean. (Yes, that might be useful functionality, but that's not my point :-) Be seeing you, norm - -- Norman Walsh <ndw@nwalsh.com> | Exuberance is beauty.--Blake http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/ | Chair, DocBook Technical Committee | -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Processed by Mailcrypt 3.5.8 <http://mailcrypt.sourceforge.net/> iD8DBQE/TLZdOyltUcwYWjsRAoAMAJwN0VtWfJe0YkSyEksrQRB+DREcNwCfRnsS 5t8DVJ2pqqPU/NAkS1KN3lQ= =AfWo -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
