I didn't intend to make a stylesheet bug report in this case. Perhaps my first post in this thread was not clear, so I will endeavor to be very specific. This case only deals with the content model of <inlineequation>, where the required <mediaobject> child is generating linebreaks. There is another case, on the docbook-apps list, where multiple <mathphrase> elements inside <equation> come out inline, probably due to the processing expectations of <mathphrase>.
