Subject: RE: [docbook] Referring to Appendices from within a chapter
I often use olinks instead of xref even when xref would work. That way if I later decide to split files or to include the referencing content in another document, the cross-reference remains valid. Of course, if you haven't already set up olinking, that might be an expensive precaution to take.
